The radio module automates reading collection from utility meters with compatible pulse outputs and securely transmits data over a LoRaWAN network. It helps utility providers monitor consumption remotely and reduce manual data collection. The IP67-rated housing protects the device in demanding operating environments, with an IP68 housing available as an option.

A high-efficiency battery provides at least 10 years of autonomous operation when transmitting readings four times a day at SF12. Reporting intervals can be configured through the mobile application, from once an hour to once a day, to match operational requirements.

Collected readings are available in a centralized monitoring system, giving providers access to consumption data and historical records by hour, day, month, and year. The device is LoRa Alliance certified for compliance with the applicable LoRaWAN specification.

Description

How it works

The module is mounted on a flat surface near the meters and connected through dry-contact or open-collector interfaces. To maintain IP67 protection, installation and connection of pulse sensors or meters must be carried out by an authorized technician trained by Jooby.

After activation through the mobile application, the module automatically sends readings over LoRaWAN to a gateway. The data is then forwarded via the internet to the utility provider’s server and displayed in the Jooby RDC Dashboard. Authorized users can access the dashboard from anywhere with an internet connection to review consumption and track changes over time.
