How it works
Gateways operate within a cellular network and are ideally positioned where radio sensors are most concentrated. For example, if a gateway is used to collect and relay meter readings, it should be placed near a residential complex. The base station gathers data from the radio modules that read the meters and then automatically forwards this information. The gateways then transmit the aggregated data to the end server over a LoRaWAN network.
