Description
How it works
The Jooby radio module is mounted directly onto the gas meter’s housing without requiring meter removal. An external antenna is connected to the radio module, and the module is attached to the meter housing using a built-in magnet. Installation and setup, performed by the service provider, take only a few minutes.
The module operates by detecting one full rotation of the meter’s dial, incrementing the pulse counter with each complete cycle. Once the data is collected, it is transmitted through the NB-IoT network. The transmission frequency can be adjusted according to operational requirements, with the default setting configured to send data once per day.
Beyond providing accurate meter readings, the module also relays critical information regarding battery status and signals any attempt to remove or manipulate the device using a magnet. An integrated electronic log can store 512 recorded events or incidents, retaining the data for up to 10 years. This ensures the system remains highly reliable and durable over extended periods of use.
